Workshop Update
We regret to inform you that the Metagenomic Virus Discovery (MVD) Workshop scheduled for October 2026 will not take place this year. Due to a significant and unexpected increase in international travel costs in recent weeks, we are unfortunately unable to proceed as planned. We understand this will be disappointing, especially for those who have already applied, and we sincerely appreciate the strong interest in the programme. We are actively exploring options to secure funding and aim to run the workshop again in the near future. Updates will be shared on this website as they become available.

This five day workshop was planned to offer lectures on core knowledge components of virus metagenomics and phylogenetics as well as hands-on practical skills in tailoring analysis pipelines and downstream analysis for high impact results taught by global experts in the field.
