[BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference 2019 @ Basel Congress Centre

The [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference is the key computational biology event in Switzerland uniting scientists working in a broad range of disciplines, including bioinformatics, computational biology, and systems biology.

This year’s thematic focus is on the use of big data in molecular medicine. The conference will feature presentations of latest research results, workshops, tutorials, poster sessions, and keynote lectures by international experts providing a prime opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research in computational biology and bioinformatics, and to network with other members of our community.

The main [BC]2 conference will take place September 10-11 at the Congress Centre in Basel as an integral part of the BASEL LIFE congress. The [BC]2 workshops and tutorials are on Monday, September 9 at the University of Basel.

18th GfV Workshop of the Study Group “Immunobiology of Viral Infections” @ Tauberbischofsheim, Germany

31st International Workshop on Retroviral Pathogenesis @ Padova, Italy

The International Workshop on Retroviral Pathogenesis (RetroPath), now in its 31st year, has long served as an active forum for the exchange of new research findings and concepts on all aspects of retroviral pathogenesis. RetroPath is the only meeting that brings diverse researchers, young and highly experienced, together to discuss on retroviruses infecting a wide variety of host species including birds, rodents, cats, ungulates and primates. It focuses on multiple aspects of retrovirus biology, starting with basic biology to pathogenic and oncogenic potential, endogenous retroviruses and their role in disease pathogenesis, host restriction factors, emerging retroviruses, vaccines, and gene therapy vectors.

Abstract submission: will open on May 1 and close on August 15, 2019.

Zoonoses 2019 – International Symposium on Zoonoses Research @ Berlin, Germany

The event is organized in cooperation between the German Research Platform for Zoonoses and the Research Network Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. The purpose of the symposium is to bring together scientists from different zoonoses research areas.

For this year’s symposium, the focus will be on “Neglected Tropical Diseases”. The agenda includes keynote presentations by well-known colleagues as well as selected workshop talks in parallel sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics. Further, interesting research projects will be presented during poster sessions. You can contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract and applying for poster or oral presentation.

Viruses 2020 – Novel Concepts in Virology @ Barcelona, Spain

Because of their global impact on human, animal, and plant health and their utility as tractable model systems, viruses continue to play a central role in all aspects of biomedical research, ranging from molecular and cell biology, structural biology, and immunology to evolution, epidemiology, and bioinformatics. This conference will bring together leading virologists from around the world and across the broad field of virology to share results of their recent studies. Meeting participants will have the opportunity to present posters and short talks on their work and discuss their research in a stimulating and collegial environment.
